When asked to describe someone who influenced me the most...

It'd have to be my Nana

she is amazing.

My IB art theme started around one piece dedicated to her

which served as a benchmark

for my entire theme to develop and progress...

She's amazing.

Recently, only last year

against all the doctors recommendations

she beat cancer!

They said, that she wouldn't survive the chemotherapy

let alone the surgery

and she should just enjoy her year

but no,

shes tough... she wasn't done living

and she did it, she beat it 

and now she is doing so great.

The reason she inspires me so much,

is not just because of this

but because,

in her day, when she married my grandpa

the company she worked for, said married women couldn't work

so she had to leave the job

where she designed textiles and patterns

But it didn't mean she stopped

she taught at RMIT

she is a fashion designer

and her flare still shows today

what other grandma, has hot pink pants?

my nana!

Since I was little, I loved visiting

and spending the day in her sewing room,

where even though I couldn't sew

I'd imagine all the things I could make

all the buttons, threads, materials.

She's quite reknowned for her goldwork stitching,

she has work in Canberra at Parliament

she's had exhibitions

and even though she's getting a bit old

she doesn't work as often

but still works a bit.

She's simply amazing

And, I wish I'd learnt earlier some of her tricks

but I think I've got my love of art, textiles, design off her

and I love her to bits.

We always have so much fun when I visit

we try on all the old hats from the days of the races

wear the pearls of my great great grandmothers

and look at all the amazing dresses from times gone by

Welcome to the wonderful world of Justin Yap

Justin Yap is KL's own top designer, in my opinion. Shoes, bags, clothing, accesories, he has it all.. His main focus is evening wear, and trust me, he definitely can make a dress which turns heads, and makes you feel like a princess!

His stuff is cutting edge, with amazing materials, gorgeous beads, stunning patterns, and different cuts... its all unique

Well here's a few photos from various shows,

Absolutely in love with it all, and definetely using him for some dresses for if any thing special comes along : )

My absolute favourite dress

wanted this as a prom dress!

The beads are exquisite swarovsky crystals

and combined with the blue, and zebra print strip 

it is an outstanding dress!

Apart from creating clothing, Justin found his new passion in designing footwear that could make you go head over heels! Using the finest materials such as lambskin and exotic leather handpicked by the designer himself, each pair is crafted by hand to perfection and usually very high heeled! “I haven’t have any complaints on my shoes so far, comfort comes first when I design the shoes, no point having a really beautiful pair of shoe but you can’t actually wear them!”
To him, being successful gives him that added boost of confidence in his work. “There's no point working if you don't hope for success.” he points out. Essentially, it all boils down to passion and drive which can easily be seen in his gleaming eyes. Without that, none of this would be possible.

12 hours of work, with no play!

So today was a busyyyy day,
I had an 8.5 hour plane ride home, got off the plane and then headed straight for work,
to earn a little mullah for my trip in kl!
i worked 11:30pm and just got home now at 1:30pm the next day..
yup tiring.
we were shooting the entire time, i got a little break from like 6:30-8 which was nice,
so I curled up and fell asleep on set
and woke up with the worstttt pins & needles

I'm home now, so exhausted
but so happy to be home in my beautiful KL
with my family, minky and friends

After 14 hour day, I am looking forward to my bowl of apple/cinnanmon oatmeal
The commercial was for a new Nestle product, and it was set at Cold Play's concert in Korea
hopefully it turns out cool : )

The other day, I had a strange feeling, one I hadn't felt in a long time, and it made me think. Someone I'd cut from my life, thought I was mad at them, over them, moved on from them, for a fleeting moment whilst I was out, I wanted to know how they were doing, how they were really doing, and if we really didn't like each other anymore. 

So, to that person, perhaps if you read this maybe you'll realise who you are, and think that maybe to see one another or to talk once would be nice, to lay things to rest, to get it out in the open, and understand why our friend ship couldn't last. I'd be so blown away to recieve a message from you, anything actually, to hear your voice or to just know you still hold a faint glint of the person you were, so that the past is not  completely in the past.

I miss having you in my life.
